William Dyce (1806 - 1864)
Dyce was educated at Aberdeen Grammar School and Marischal
College. He worked with oil and watercolour, in fresco and designed stained
glass. His finest easel pictures are of religious subjects. He was elected an
Associate of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1835. Dyce is remembered as a leader
of the High Church Movement and also as a chorister and composer.
